The Philadelphia Ren Faire

If traffic is good it is a 5 hour drive to Philly. It’s never good.

The faire is at Fort Mifflin next to the river and by the airport.

The Philly Faire (http://phillyfaire.com ) is a good show at a nice historic location. It’s a fun time, even if the "dragons" flying overhead can be loud at times.
Our stage had a visitor day 1, but they did not perform with us.

The ground level at the fort is pretty low, so given the damp spring the grounds weren’t the driest. We did make due and were a bit farther forward than last year.

We were doing three historical shows a day. The first, mostly German. The second a mix of Italian, French and English. The last audience choice where we do what they want to see.

It was fairly warm, so Sunday we had a tent for the audience to sit in set up for us, and that seemed to work well.

Sunday we were also joined by two members of the Philadelphia branch of the Historical African Martial Arts Association: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1559419451037192
Several of us have taken the classes they offer and think they’re great. They do great work and strongly encourage anyone with any interest in historical marital arts to check them out!

Our shows were similar to day 1:

The big difference was that half our shows we had our special guest stars do their demos.

Between shows we answered questions and gave folks chances to get hands on.

We did also rest some as it was fairly warm…

But, there were other shows to do, so not much sitting down.

Sunday was a bit damp and the water levels higher, so we took down our tent before it flooded and just used the very nice one the faire provided for us.

We followed a similar format on Sunday, if a bit more constrained by the rain and water.

Monday night we packed up and made our way home to New England.

It was a great time. I want to thank our guest stars again as they really added something special to this show that folks don’t get to see often!
