Philly Fair 2023!

The Philly Faire ( https://www.phillyfaire.com/?fbclid=IwAR34hSUO2LNAvNzmCRP90oMOeawUhliGrDASqIWrwxituRQmgPN1d5n_l-8 ) held at quarter millennium old fort new the Philadelphia airport: http://www.fortmifflin.us/
It’s a cool place right by the river with a lot of history.

It is at the end of the Philadelphia airport runway, so a lot of planes fly over.

While not a castle with a moat, it had a lot in common with it.

We had a corner for our tent and ring and the faire did a good job of filling up the fort. I thought it was very cool they had a stage inside the walls in the catacombs.

Due to the planes there was a sound system for folks that was quite useful.

We shared our stage with the amazing David Darwin ( http://www.daviddarwin.com/ )
It was an honor to be on the same stage as him.

There were only 5 of us this weekend (And, we were very happy to have the others join me and my wife…) so we did our historical shows for each of the three shows.

Sunday was a similar set up with a VERY good audience. Those who know us know we rank our audience on a 1 to 5 scale. Only 11% of our shows have the dreamed of class 1 crowd, but Sunday was one of those magic days. It was great!

As always, between shows we let folks in the tent to look at swords and ask questions.

It was a 3 day weekend, so Monday we were back with avians of all kinds.

Historical shows again, this time with our family watching, which is extra nice.

It was a great show and we had a great time!
Thanks to all who made it possible!

I regret not having enough time to devote to PS anymore, as I'd have liked to have joined you at this. A Ren faire in a fort actually sounds like a great idea, I wonder if other fort/museums will consider it in the future. Yeah, the time period doesn't line but but neither do pirates or star wars and other things that show up at faires. Although jousting and combat tournaments do technically stick around into the 1700s...
